The roads outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, the state with 10,000 lakes, served as the road test bed for the new Genesis GV80 Coupe, the latest addition to the Korean automaker鈥檚 impressive luxury car and SUV lineup.
According to Genesis,听鈥淭he GV80 Coupe effortlessly maximizes utility and sportiness with a distinctive design package, encompassing a dynamic exterior and a sporty, high-tech interior, complemented by a 3.5-liter gasoline turbo 48V electric supercharger (e-S/C) engine.鈥
GV80 Coupe Exterior
Genesis鈥 鈥淭wo-Line鈥 theme starts up front with LED two line headlamps, continues with two line side markers, and end at the rear with two line LED tail lamps.
When viewed from the side, the arch-shaped Parabolic Line spanning the body and the low, sloping roofline are strong statements of the dynamic exterior design.
At the rear, the GV80 Coupe features a unique design with LED surface-emitting rear combination lamps and a wide integrated auxiliary brake light on the tailgate. The roof-mounted rear spoiler is functional and looks great.
GV80 Coupe Interior
The interior of the GV80 Coupe features a meaty D-cut steering wheel and unique carbon garnish patterns and seats with coupe-exclusive patterns and stitching further contribute to the refined design.
A 27-inch-wide OLED display integrates the multimedia screen and the center touch screen controls HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), audio, mobile phone integration and other functions.
Key features include AM/FM/XM Radio/HD Radio, Cloud Profiles, Connected Routing, Dynamic Voice Recognition, OTA updates, Android Auto & wireless Apple CarPlay, and an optional Bang & Olufsen 18 Speaker, 1,400 Watt, 14-Channel Amplifier all controlled via a 27鈥 integrated OLED screen.
GV80 Coupe Performance
The GV80 Coupe offers two gasoline engine choices, including the gasoline 3.5L V6 Twin Turbo with 48V electric supercharger (e-S/C), outputting 409 horsepower. The standard all-wheel-drive system is programmed for rear-wheel power bias in dry weather modes. A Sport + drive mode, launch control and sport stability control mode are additional performance goodies.
GV80 Coupe Safety
Key safety features include: Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Forward Attention Warning, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Advanced Rear Occupant Alert are among myriad GV80 Coupe Safety features.
Things to know: The Genesis GV80 Coupe comes with a number of warranties and complimentary services, including a limited warranty that covers the vehicle for five years or 60,000 miles; a 10-year or 100,000 mile power train warranty; and complimentary maintenance that covers oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and cabin air filter changes for three years or 36,000 miles.
